Do I need experience to sign up for any IBCA’s classes?
You do not need any experience for Introduction classes, “Home” classes, or Mechanical/Technical classes. In order to register for a Intermediate or Professional class, you must first complete the Introduction class in the same field of study.
How do I register for classes?
What do I need to bring?
You do not need to bring anything with you to the classes. We’ll provide pastries for all morning classes, we also provide lunch for full-day classes, and all print materials you will need. We’ll even send you home with a coffee sample. Bring only your passion for coffee, and any questions you’d like the instructor to address.
How much do classes cost?
Price varies based on the amount of knowledge and hands-on experience provided, as well as the cost of materials, the usage of various machines for training, and as well as the class level and certification awarded. Short Home Enthusiast Workshops start at $80, and all-day SCAE (Speciality Coffee Association of Europe) approved classes, which provide certification and assist you to complete your SCAE diploma start at $425. Prices for each unique class are quoted under the various fields of study found under the “Classes” Tab at the top of the IBCA website.
