I recently received my SCAE Barista Level 1 Certification from Patrick O’Malley at IBCA in Tempe, AZ. I’ve been Lead Barista at Breakfast Club City Scape and thought I’d “mastered” my craft. The 8-hour session not only humbled me, but also opened my eyes up to the artistry behind coffee, brewing and serving espresso/coffee drinks. Using the knowledge I gained through this course, I’m confident our store sales will increase and our guests will get an even more unique experience than in previous visits.
I’d recommend IBCA’s Barista Classes to new hires and seasoned baristas alike.
Breakfast Club CityScape
I took the Roasting & Grinding course offered from the IBCA Coffee School in Tempe, AZ and found it to be extremely educational and informative. It unlocked relationships between the grind/brew of a bean and showed me the difference in the cup with all other variables held constant. The difference is so dramatic and substantial! Patrick showed me how a great batch of coffee can be ruined with improper training and how a sub-par batch of beans can be noticeably improved simply by varying one’s technique.
No question about it: The class was worth every dollar. From my cup at home to the coffee I serve at work, they have all improved by leaps and bounds!
